The Fifth Edition of the fair ‘Andalusia Flavor, International Fine Food Exhibition’ was celebrated September 14 to 16 in the Exhibition and Convention Centre (Fibes II).
The Department of Agriculture, Fishing and Rural Development of the Junta de Andalucía, -organizing entity of this summit of the first order dedicated to the alimentary and high gastronomy sectors – , entrusted ACCIONA Producciones y Diseño (APD) for the design, production, assembly/disassembly, supervision and maintenance of all exhibition areas, as well as for technical assistance and organization of the entire event.
Areas and activities
The program of activities for ‘Andalucía Sabor’ was organized around the areas of the Convention Centre that occupied a total surface area of 5,000 m2 and was divided into: an institutional zone; an exhibition area composed of products from 150 exhibitioners; the activities area ‘Sabor en Vivo’ (Live Flavor), dedicated to tastings, live cooking demonstrations, pairings and presentations; a zone for training workshops; the ‘Salón del Aceite’ (Oil Salon) and the ‘Salón del Vino’ (Wine Salon), with a capacity to house 65 references in the case of oil and 52 references in the case of wine and which included expert tasters for visitors; the area ‘Redes de Innovación’ (Innovations Networks), where bi-lateral meetings were held among research groups and agencies for the sector to foment innovation; and, finally, the Gastronomic Convention, which was held in the auditorium of Fibes II under the title “Investigation and innovation in the new era of stoves”, and that for two days brought together currently the best chefs of Andalusia and some of the most representative chefs on a national scale, such as, Ángel León, Dani García and Sergi Arola.
Besides fitting out all of the areas included in the program, APD was also responsible for contracting and management of catering for the event, which implied the assembly, installation and the most advanced kitchen equipment in the very fair itself, with the catering put in charge of the prestigious company Bodegas Campos, one of the most highly regarded in Andalusia.
‘Andalucía Sabor’ gathered together professionals from the alimentary and fishing sectors in a forum whose objective was to evaluate Andalusian products, find out about the latest tendencies in the sector and increase the number of commercial ventures, both national and internationally. The fair was attended this year by 47 buyers from 20 countries and counted on up to 8 markets more than the previous edition, among which could be found the main distributor for the United States and important distributors for Asia and Latin America. Their presence has, without any doubt, helped to consolidate the international projection and commercial character of this encounter.
