This year, more than 100 people participated in the set up, design and implementation of ACCIONA’s Annual Shareholder Meeting, organised in full by ACCIONA Producciones y Diseño.
Like each year, ACCIONA Producciones y Diseño, a subsidiary of the group that specialises in event organisation, is responsible for the design, production, set up and organisation of the Annual Shareholder Meeting of the ACCIONA group, one of the most important events in the calendar of any listed company.
Held this year on May 10th, ACCIONA’s Shareholder Meeting annually brings together shareholders, the media and corporate executives to hear from José Manuel Entrecanales about the key points of the fiscal year and the company’s outlook, submitting its management to the shareholders’ evaluation. It is, therefore, an act that implicates numerous departments within the company and demands pinpoint accuracy.
The process to organise a company’s General Shareholder Meeting as large as ACCIONA’s begins approximately three months earlier. ACCIONA Producciones y Diseño’s work starts with the general planning of the event but also the creation of the graphic imagery and the design of the stage set, key elements that will determine the event’s final image and which must be in line with ACCIONA’s corporate identity and messages. To this end, they work with 3D computer generated models to understand what the final result will be, accurately reflecting what guests will see on the day of the event. Once the design for the event is approved by the Chairmanship, the development and production phases really begin.
However, the critical moment is the set up of the event. For a 2-hour event, more than 100 people work two days prior in 18-hour shifts.
Technical and logistic coordination is essential in this phase, where set up works coexist with other technical tasks such as installing and activating IT equipment, streaming broadcasting equipment, simultaneous translation booths, CCTV, projection systems, sound, lighting…
On the day of the event, there are final rehearsals and everything is put into place to welcome the shareholders. It’s the crucial moment, the point of no return, but one in which as a result of good planning and the control of all the intervening aspects of the organisation nothing is left to chance and the event, one more year, goes according to plan.
