APD has carried out the design, production and assembly of the 200m2 stand representing a total of 81 publishers and institutions.
The Guadalajara International Book Fair is the most important editorial conference in Latin America. It is held from November 25 to December 4 and is expected to be attended by more than 800,000 visitors.
ACCIONA Producciones y Diseño (APD) is the company responsible for the design, production, coordination, logistics and assembly of the stand for the Spanish Association of Publishers Guilds at the Guadalajara International Book Fair (FIL), Mexico.
This will be the thirty-first edition of the book fair and will be open from November 25 to December 3. It is the most important publishing conference in Latin America, and the second worldwide in terms of publishers present, with more than two thousand publishers from 47 countries. It is expected to draw more than 800,000 visitors from around the world.
The Spanish Association of Publishers Guilds (Federación de Gremios de Editores de España, FGEE) is leading the Spanish presence at the Fair, with a 200m2 stand designed and produced entirely by APD. The stand hosts a total of 81 publishers from Spain and Madrid. Madrid is the city guest of honour at this edition of the fair, with a special space dedicated in the stand. The design consists of 40 modules that combine the functions of editorial exposure and networking, since this is one of the most important fairs in the world in this sector. These display modules create a wide and versatile expo space that also provide each publisher with their own space.
The design includes a central body that articulates the spaces dedicated to the Federation and the Madrid City Council using colour to create two spaces that are clearly different, while also being part of a homogeneous and coherent whole.
The front of the stand is also notable, at 75m2, it recreates the texture traditionally used in the “guards” of the books, chromatically inspired by the colours of the national flag.
In line with ACCIONA’s integral commitment to sustainability in all its activities, environmentally friendly material resources and suppliers have been chosen whenever possible in making the stand and its various adaptations.
Designed with the basic premises of versatility, viability and modulation, the stand’s design can be adapted to different fairs, fulfilling the norms, needs and specific requirements of each, without ever sacrificing the brand image.
Like all events produced by ACCIONA Producciones y Diseño, this is a carbon neutral project. The CO2 emissions linked to the contract will be calculated to be compensated for with a clean energy project, thus achieving the end emissions balance of zero.
